Peter Drucker is one of the most famous writers on management and leadership in business. One of his best-known quotes, “Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things” illustrates why automation of HR tasks only increases the importance of highly trained and skilled HR leaders in business. Just as ERP and other business management software leveraged the intelligence and training of supply, inventory, finance and operations professionals, so does HR management automation do the same in the HR field. We have found that the more highly intelligent business students are specializing in HR and that corresponding employment opportunities are begin created by employers who see the value to their bottom lines by having professionals who can support the leveraging of human capital to that end.
