Peter Armstrong, Host of CBC’s “On the Money” Interviewed Henry Goldbeck Monday Afternoon
Henry Goldbeck, President of Goldbeck Recruiting, was interviewed by Peter Armstrong on CBC’s “On the Money” Monday afternoon. See Henry’s featured answers on economic growth for 2017 and how it will influence employment shifts in Western Canada here. To watch Henry Goldbeck, please fast forward to 7 minutes and 15 seconds into the interview.
Henry highlighted the job recession in Alberta and whether companies will replenish their workforces to the same level as they maintained prior to the downturn.
He projected that key industries will fill positions to previous existing employment levels; however, most companies will do this on a “leaner” basis.
He noted that BC’s manufacturing, operations, and human resources sectors’ hiring is in high demand.
However, while Alberta was booming in the past, it was difficult to hire personnel as Alberta companies were paying extra above what other provinces would consider a reasonable wage. Now in BC, project managers are in high demand with the booming housing industry. Henry notes there’s less of an employment shift and people are staying in BC. Goldbeck’s current client needs are to place employees in BC more so than in Alberta.
