Top Interview Tips for Hiring Managers and Recruiters from Goldbeck
Henry of Goldbeck Recruiting shares a few suggestions on the article “Recruiters and Hiring Managers Reveal Top Interview Tips“:
“It is often easy to not spend enough time breaking the ice with candidates, helping them relax before getting into the interview process. If the candidate relaxes and begins to speak more comfortably when answering questions, they can often reveal themselves more intimately making the interview process easier. If the candidate becomes unguarded they can often tell you things about their attitude, thinking process, ambition, fit for the job, etc. If they volunteer that information easily it makes your job easier.
Open ended questions of course are very helpful once the candidate is relaxed. This does not remove the need for direct specific questioning or tough questioning to clarify but instead of a cat and mouse interview game, a more open conversation can often be very revealing. Sometimes this is not possible. Some candidates are always going to be wary or guarded.”
