Trends in Senior Marketing Management
When Nintendo of Canada Ltd. approached Goldbeck in the early months of 2020, we were delighted to guide them in their search for a Manager of Marketing Strategy & Planning. The client knew what skills and experience they were looking for, but required assistance in finding it. Our recruiter Alessia’s in-depth knowledge of the marketing industry and vast network led them to success.
For this role, the client sought more than simply a marketing manager, they needed a candidate at a higher strategic level with strong negotiation skills. The ability to deal with multiple teams, along with leadership experience was required, but experience in the gaming industry was not. Alessia began her search by reviewing her extensive network, initially rounding up 108 resumes worth reviewing further. From the 108, she took the time to speak with 51 potential candidates and then met with 14. The pandemic threw a curveball into the usual recruiting process, but Alessia and the client were able to adapt and continue with the search.
After a couple rounds of preliminary interviews, the client found 4 final candidates. From there, the two finalists were interviewed thoroughly over the course of two weeks and ultimately a final candidate was selected. By giving this search the time it needed the right experience and skill was found.
