Our client provides services to people with disabilities.  They have over 500 employees working throughout the lower mainland.

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in training staff in best practices of around accounting transactions and completing reconciliations in accordance with the Society’s financial reporting framework.

You will take the lead on a key leadership role within the Finance Department in managing the compliance requirements of the Society and contributing an accounting & finance perspective to organizational policy and strategy discussions.

You will represent the Finance Department as a key point of contact for any issues relating to accounting and financial reporting; as such, liaise with and support internal and external professionals on a regular basis.


  • Lead, Support and Manage 5+ accounting staff in day-to-say operations.
  • Reporting and Compliance in accordance with deadlines
  • Commitment to professional development of self and team
  • Ensure key deadlines are appropriately identified and work is completed by staff in a timely manner.
  • Develop and utilize the talents and skills of the Finance team members.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Able to assist with coverage for payroll processor as required.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Support the team in month end process and reconciliations.
  • Year-end audit – assist in preparing for the annual financial statement audit.
  • Year-end tax – payroll reconciliations and reporting.


  • Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
  • Bachelor Degree with a preference in Commerce/Business Administration;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Intermediate to Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with Netsuite and UKG Payroll System is preferred but not required.
  • Organized and good communication skills.
