Our client is a well-established leasing company with a dynamic and progressive team.  The Accounting Supervisor is a key leader on the team.  Overseeing a team of seven in their busy transactional accounting department.

We are looking for an individual who has led a team of 4 plus staff and enjoys being a mentor/coach to your team.


  • Lead and manage the transactional accounting team including accounts receivable, refunds, accounts payable and payroll
  • Review rental payments for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with funders and internal departments
  • Review refund requests for accuracy, approval, validity, and ensure the completeness of supporting documents
  • Review accounts payable coding, approval and ensure payment details are correct and are made on time
  • Ensure special payments such as shareholder payments, corporate tax instalments and commodity tax payments are accurate and made on time
  • Review and approve semi-monthly payroll for accuracy and ensure compliance with the applicable employment standards
  • Review sales commission calculations for accuracy and validity
  • Prepare monthly financial statement for certain legal entities
  • Review all commodity tax returns
  • Prepare monthly inventory and arrears reconciliations
  • Ensure inter-company accounts are balanced at period end
  • Assist with year end audit and preparation of working papers for auditors
  • Prepare quarterly reports for lenders and funders
  • Provide guidance and training for team members, and implement best practices taking into consideration the company’s particular circumstances
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve efficiency and operating effectiveness
  • Maintain internal control and recommend improvements
  • Provide vacation coverage and act as a back up person for the other Senior Accountant
  • Special projects and other related duties, as required


  • Canadian CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA and CPA) or equivalents is an asset
  • 5+ years of previous accounting experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience leading a team of 4 or more
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE is required, strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP would be an asset
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP such as Sage 50 Quantum, Sage 300, Oracle NetSuite or Microsoft NAV would be an asset
  • Strong integrity, professionalism, and work ethic without sacrificing your ability to have fun on the job
