Our client is a thriving manufacturer of pipes, valves and related waterworks products. Due to their development plans, they are adding a Commercial Market Manager who will be selling directly to new and existing Manufacturing Representatives and Wholesale Distributors across British Columbia while also dealing with end-users, contractors, owners, and engineers.

The ideal candidate is someone technically inclined, with a strong understanding of manufacturing & specification processes, and a proven track record of successfully selling industrial products to a distribution network.

This a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work alongside the company’s counterpart in the United States and gaining exposure to the whole North American market. A hybrid model (combination of office and remote work) will be offered as well. Candidates are required to reside anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed sales strategies spanning annually, quarterly, and monthly periods to propel market initiatives forward
  • Manage existing portfolio while pursuing growth through new business and conversion opportunities
  • Cultivate relationships with end users, contractors, owners, and engineers, nurturing long-term partnerships
  • Conduct regular presentations and educational sessions
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and meetings to stay abreast of market trends
  • Conduct installation demonstrations, site visits and application reviews to ensure best practices are followed
  • Monitor market trends and provide insightful reports to management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic business plans
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce.com for project tracking and client management

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and 5+ years of experience in an outside sales role, ideally within the industrial sector
  • Proficiency in computer applications and programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities
  • Ability to interpret and execute instructions effectively
  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of sales channels and competitors’ products
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
  • Exceptional administrative and interpersonal skills
