Our client is a global leader in the supply of plants, equipment, and services for various industries in the municipal and industrial sectors. We are looking for their new CNC Programmer to join their team in Delta. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating CNC programs for all CNC equipment on-site including any future CNC equipment. The candidate will create manufacturing-process-plan documentation to enable Machinists to run CNC programs efficiently and effectively. The Mastercam Certification and previous experience in a similar role are required for this role. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will work closely with the team of CNC Machinists and Project Management team.

Responsibilities 

  • Create new, or modify existing CNC programs to ensure that machining operations continue without delay
  • Create manufacturing-process-plan documentation to enable Machinists to run CNC programs efficiently and effectively
  • Develop programs for machining operations in accordance with workpiece drawings supplied by Manufacturing Operations Manager
  • Instruct Machinists regarding the scope of machining operations; with verbal instruction or with supporting documentation
  • Ensure that the latest cutting-tool Technology is employed to maximize the productivity and efficiency of all CNC Operations
  • Define requirements for machine tool-holders and related consumable tooling required for machining the features required by the manufacturing operation
  • Maintain 5S Initiatives in CNC Manufacturing Cell
  • Set minimum stock levels of consumables required for manufacturing the numerous parts
  • Oversee the procurement of the necessary tooling, and ensure that the required tooling is delivered in a timely manner
  • Partially cooperate with the team of the Project Managers
  • Support daily manufacturing activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role (pulp & paper industrial background is a big asset)
  • Knowledge of material properties like Inconel, Stellite, 304/316/318 Stainless, 2205 Stainless, 19-4PH Stainless, Alloy-Steels is nice to have
  • Mastercam Certification and strong technical communication skills
  • Strong English level (written and spoken)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently
  • Dynamic and positive attitude towards the work in a smaller close-knit team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self- motivation level
