Our client is a well-established, global engineering firm offering design, detailing, and digital engineering services to the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
They are expanding their team in Burnaby, BC by adding a Construction Modeler/Detailer to work on sophisticated industrial projects. This is a permanent, full-time position offering significant room for growth and the opportunity to work on national and international projects that require the highest level of engineering. A hybrid model (a combination of remote and office work) will be offered.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings including all views and dimensions necessary using CAD software
- Identifying technical queries, requests for information, connection design questions, and issuing to the client through correct processes
- Continuously discussing and consulting with Project Coordinators and/or Project Managers throughout projects and jobs to ensure delivery is in line with all the requirements
- Working closely and cohesively with all relevant departments to ensure that models and drawings convey the correct information and are error-free
- Back drafting following checking. Incorporating approved changes into drawings and/or documents
- Reviewing and controlling clash and interface checking (any relevant software may be used)
- Completing necessary checklists per applicable procedure (close-outs, handover models, etc.)
- Responsible for constantly managing schedule and delivery dates
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of construction modeling experience, ideally 2+ in civil construction
- A diploma in civil and structural engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering (technical), or equivalent (in a relevant field)
- Extensive relevant experience in lieu of formal education would be considered mandatory
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Experienced in 3D detailing, specifically in a materials-handling environment
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology
- Proficient in Tekla Structures with experience in relevant CAD support Software
