Our client is a well-established business that supports the Construction industry with multiple business lines and revenue streams and including operations in the US.  They are looking for a Controller with potential to succession plan into a CFO position.  Dynamic leadership group and great opportunity to work in a fast-paced and growing business. You will oversee a team of four in accounting.



  • Provide recommendations for improving processes throughout the organization.
  • Manage and improve on ERP systems, process improvement automation, and IT infrastructure maintenance.
  • Prepare and liaise of annual Year-End financial reporting package in compliance with financing reporting covenants.
  • Consider the implications of working with both Canadian and USA in-house companies.
  • Present management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Provide leadership to an accounting team of five, mentoring, developing & training.
  • Oversee payroll and HR administration and processing, including managing benefit renewals.
  • Management of the full-cycle accounting processes and for the preparation of all financial reporting.
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor monthly.
  • Responsible for corporate insurance management and renewals.
  • Develop cash management processes and management of credit agreements in conjunction with financing arrangements and bank relationships.
  • Report on banking covenants and quarterly margining requirements with lenders.
  • Cash flow management and planning, organization of financing.
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
  • Prepare other ad-hoc reports to management with information vital to the decision-making process.


  • CPA Designated
  • 5+ years of Senior Leadership experience in a similar role
  • Highly strategic and forward-looking leadership skills
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
  • Asset: MS Business Central 365 or ERP system experience
