Our client has 48 years of material handling expertise in Western Canada. Their equipment is strong, versatile and reliable. They are looking for an Engineer who will report to the Operations Manager, the Engineer is responsible for the day to day operations of engineering projects. This position provides expert support, advice, and approvals on racking and mezzanine projects.

Responsibilities:

· Design and engineer racking and mezzanine systems including seismic loads

· Ensuring project deliverables satisfy appropriate legislative requirements and quality standards and are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner including but not limited to WorkSafe BC and Alberta and British Columbia building codes

· Working with clients, sales representatives, and leadership team to understand project and client requirements and preparing and presenting solutions

· Allocating resources within defined project budgets Ø Conducting technical/design reviews and provide direction on projects including troubleshooting and resolving

design/technical issues Ø Interfacing with clients’ senior management to ensure clients’ standards/requirements are met

Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural engineering discipline is required. A master’s degree or doctorate in a related engineering discipline would be considered an asset.

· Experience with seismic analysis and engineering requirements is required Ø Previous experience in an engineering capacity in racking systems is considered an asset

· Work well under pressure while maintaining composure and direction

· Able to effectively multitask while maintaining a high degree of accountability

· Must exercise a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy

· Working knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia Building Codes and Workers Compensation Acts requirements

· Ability to effectively use appropriate hand tools as required such as a torque wrench

· Professional Structural Engineer in Canada: licensing and registration maintained by provincial associations (Ex. British Columbia and Alberta) as you will be required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practice as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) – Civil or Structural
