Our client is a well-established healthcare services and commercial/residential sanitation company. They are now expanding their business to enter the restoration industry. We are looking for a General Manager to lead this new and exciting business venture, growing the business from the ground up. This person will be an integral part of the company’s leadership team. He or she will develop and executive a business strategy to enter the restoration market in Western Canada.  This will include setting up the overall business structure and systems, hiring and training staff, bidding on contracts, securing new business opportunities and managing the day-to-day operation.

We are looking for results-driven, highly motivated candidates with hands-on managerial experience from the restoration industry. Candidates must have high-level operations, sales, or management experience and technical knowledge of the restoration business.  Our client is looking for an entrepreneurial individual with strong business acumen, who is technologically systems-savvy and highly collaborative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and manages all aspects of business operations, including eventual office space
  • Searches for new business opportunities and presents the company’s services to potential customers
  • Recruits, hires, and trains staff
  • Develops company systems to track various business activities including contracts, sales, inventory, and scheduling
  • Ensures the company operates in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
  • Creates and implements employee technical training programs
  • Manages all employee relations
  • Establishes and manages day-to-day business operations
  • Maintains contact with customers, ensuring all clients are well taken care of
  • Oversees technician scheduling
  • Manages all business accounting functions including budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll


  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, operations, or general management in the restoration industry
  • Previous technical knowledge in the restoration business is required (i.e. testing methods: bacterial, fire, flood tests to determine what can be saved, cleaned and/or restored)
  • Experience in operations management, financial planning, and people management
  • Strong business acumen
  • Systems and computer savvy
  • Experience securing new contracts and sales opportunities
  • Experience with government RFPs is a major asset
