Our client is a family-owned, custom kitchen builder. We are looking for a General Manager to join the company and manage the overall team, including sales, production, and strategic planning for the organization. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous exposure to the millwork or similar industries who has led sales and/or operations teams, has had full P&L responsibilities and has grown companies through strategic planning. Our client has an excellent reputation and solid connections within the building materials/construction industry and is looking for a new leader to maintain and grow their customer base while improving systems and processes to ensure a bright future ahead!

  • Full P+L responsibility
  • Manages the overall business, including sales, production and financial reporting
  • Creates and executes the company’s overall business strategy, setting growth targets and developing plans to achieve goals
  • Leads and mentors the team, with a strong emphasis on mentoring front office staff
  • Incorporates high-level customer feedback into operations, service delivery and management
  • Increases profitability and revenue growth through sales and business success
  • Champions the company’s services, ensuring the organization is strategically placed within the marketplace
  • Creates a culture of high performance, developing KPIs and metrics to measure success
  • Represents the company at industry events
  • Plans, directs and coordinates the efforts of the sales team toward the accomplishment of business objectives
  • Manages any escalated customer situations
  • Creates and fosters a sales culture of accountability and performance
  • Coaches and mentors the sales team on sales processes and methodology

  • Proven leadership experience working in an industry that produces custom millwork (we are particularly interested in senior managers from the custom kitchen, cabinet and door industries)
  • At least 7-10 years of experience at a senior management level
  • Excellent communication, team building, coaching and motivational skills
  • A track record of success in managing sales within an organization
  • Strong sales background and experience with leading and motivating sales teams
  • Progressive leadership skills and high emotional IQ
  • A solid understanding of production of millwork materials
  • Strong financial background
  • Ability to organize effectively and delegate responsibility, including problem solving and clear communication
  • Dedicated and motivated to effectively manage the business
  • The ideal candidate will live in Abbotsford, Chilliwack or Hope
