Our client is a technology and project company, selling complex mining technology and plant projects to their customers worldwide.

We are looking for their new Installation & Commissioning Technician to join their Global Service Delivery Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for championing technical inspections and recommendations at the site, provide local installation and start-up support of pre-assembled products. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, effective communication and collaborative skills along with initiative for the completion of tasks are key to success in this position.

Responsibilities 

  • Experience working with a minimum of one technology
  • Champion technical inspections and recommendations at site
  • Provide local installation and start-up support of pre-assembled products
  • Provide specific technical discipline work at the site (hydraulics, mechanics, automation, etc.)
  • Identify sales leads and promote services offering
  • Participate in basic customer operations & maintenance orientation training on-site as may be applicable/appropriate
  • Deliver site reports, timesheets and travel expenses reports after all jobs performed
  • Ensure proper fulfillment of all QEHS rules and regulations
  • Perform safety inspection at the workplace before starting the job/task on site
  • Drive QEHS efforts by the promotion of Safety First safety culture and understanding of hazards and risks associated with site work. Other safety responsibilities include; participating in job safety analysis (JSA) for any specific job at the site, ensuring the correct usage of PPE and reporting of any unsafe conditions at the site

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years experience working directly with Grinding Mill equipment
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding a valid Trades certification or 3rd/4th year Apprentice status in an applicable and recognized Trade (Millwright, Machinist/Fitter, Other)
  • QEHS, promotion of Safety First safety culture and understanding of hazards and risks associated with site work
  • Capacity to work on-site for extended periods
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • Customer-focused, services skills and ability to building trust
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
