Our client is one of the most recognized organizations offering underwater logging/timber services on a global scale by utilizing unparalleled state-of-the-art technology.

Due to the company’s expansion, they are adding a Junior Project Manager to their team. This individual will report to the Senior Project Engineering Manager and work closely with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure equipment meets the technical and operational requirements and projects are properly scheduled/managed/delivered.

This position offers significant career advancement and growth opportunities. Strong technical background (focus on mechanicals) is essential. Engineering Degree is preferred, not mandatory.

The position will require international travel and will be preferably based in Victoria, BC. However, our client is also open to those who feel more comfortable working remotely from other locations, as long as one week a month at their Victoria, BC location is guaranteed.


  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the technical and engineering activities of the company, particularly as they relate to the ongoing development and support of the company’s state-of-the-art equipment;
  • Identify potential risks to achieving project goals and, with other team members, implement methods to mitigate these risks;
  • Coordinate the supply of various external and internal suppliers to ensure projects meet the desired outcomes;
  • Liaison between the company’s Operations and Engineering teams to develop project plans;
  • Liaison with contractors and suppliers to ensure the company’s requirements are understood and goals are met;
  • Participate in the assembly, testing, and commissioning of the company’s proprietary technology and equipment;
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies; and
  • This position will require extensive travel within North America, South America, and Europe.


  • Proven, hands-on practical approach including excellent troubleshooting ability;
  • Strong technical experience and ability to translate operational requirements into an engineering solution;
  • 5+ years of work experience in an industrial setting;
  • 5+ years of work experience managing suppliers and contractors;
  • 5+ years experience managing industrial equipment projects;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required (previous experience working for a mechanical equipment manufacturer would be strongly preferred);
  • Electrical aptitude would be an asset;
  • Marine experience would be an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools;
  • Engineering Technologist Diploma would be a big asset;
  • Experience with Microsoft Project would be an asset;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks would be an asset;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English (required); and
  • Working knowledge of the French language (both written and spoken French – nice to have).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to independently assess, define and solve problems;
  • Ability to work in a demanding, dynamic environment and identify and implement practical solutions when required;
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Self-motivated enjoys challenges and working in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.
