We are looking for experienced Process/Mechanical Engineer to work for one of our clients, who are a leading consulting engineering firm providing consulting and advisory in planning, engineering, and P3 in the water, transportation, urban development and environmental sectors across Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading projects or components of projects and for the supervision of junior engineers. The candidate will have the interpersonal skills to work in a fast paced team environment where daily problem solving is required. He/she will be focused on process/mechanical design, design quality, and construction services within a multi-discipline team. Our candidate is experienced in planning and detailed design of process/mechanical treatment systems including primary treatment, activated sludge, secondary treatment, solids treatment including digestion, thickening and dewatering, and disinfection systems.


  • Management and leadership of projects through concept, preliminary and detailed design and construction phases with an emphasis on sustainable design practices
  • Coordination of work with contractors and clients while preparing and/or supervising the preliminary and final design, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Mentoring and supervision of the work of younger engineers and technicians in a team
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary design team to resolve design issues
  • Client management activities, participation in client workshops, and project management
  • Drive integration and alignment between engineering, operations, and contractors


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar role designing water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Degree in Mechanical/ Civil/ Environmental or Chemical Engineering
    (experience in solids treatment including digester design and sludge conveyance systems is a big asset)
  • You must be registered with Engineers of British Columbia/ able to obtain registration through reciprocity with another province quickly
  • Experience in BIM/REVIT, and Navisworks is an asset
  • Proficient computer and MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
  • Able to respond to urgent needs and meet deadlines
  • Fast learner, results-oriented, excellent communicator and leader
  • Attention to detail required
