Our client is an extremely innovative tech company that sells software to the fisheries industry to meet regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Sales Manager, working 2-3 days a week from their downtown Vancouver office.  He or she will lead the overall sales team for the organization, eventually managing 2-3 direct reports. We are looking for someone with proven sales accomplishments in a related industry, and some experience managing sales representatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather customer feedback and share with internal teams
  • Liaise with fishers and associations with the express purpose of building brand recognition and identifying new sales opportunities
  • Establish the company’s reputation as a reliable service provider
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the efforts of the sales team toward the accomplishment of business objectives
  • Manage the team to deliver profitable growth
  • Develop and monitor targets and KPIs to evaluate success
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Manage any escalated customer situations
  • Negotiate contracts with large fisheries associations
  • Create and nurture relationships with key stakeholders
  • Generate new business through cold calling and other business development tactics
  • Identify new market opportunities and follow up on sales leads
  • Evaluate profitability with other senior executives
  • Liaise with clients to ensure customer retention and satisfaction
  • Create and foster a sales culture of accountability and performance
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity

Qualifications:

  • Strong B2B sales experience
  • 7-10 years of successful sales experience, ideally selling a product or service related to fisheries, ag-tech, or natural resources
  • 2-3 years of sales management experience
  • Excellent communication, team building, coaching and motivational skills
  • Driven, passionate, tenacious, and motivated to build sales and a highly effective sales culture
  • Solid computer skills (able to use MS Office, google suite products and remote working tools)
  • Able to manage competing tasks
  • Experience working in a startup environment is an asset
  • Experience within the fisheries industry is a major asset
  • Willingness to work out of the company’s downtown office 2-3 days per week
