Our client is a locally established food producer well- known for its quality products distributed across British Columbia.  We are looking for their new Sanitation Supervisor who will be responsible for ensuring the sanitation and cleanliness of all facility areas, guide and direct sanitation crew for cleaning and sanitation of the plant, the equipment, and utensils according to General Manufacturing Practices standards.  She/ he will report to the Quality Assurance Manager assisting in the supervision of Sanitation Department staff and monitoring operational efficiency in that area.



  • Oversee the entire sanitation process to ensure completeness of tasks/responsibilities for the department
  • Assume ownership of SOPs and the sanitation programs
  • Responsible for the accurate tracking and record-keeping required for the sanitation department
  • Using appropriate cleaning methods, clean in accordance with GMP standards, all equipment, and utensils
  • Cleans production floor and surrounding area to ensure that GMP Standards are adhered to
  • Locks out, dismantles, cleans, and sanitizes production machines as required and in accordance with master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures
  • Work in a safe and conscientious manner and independently with minimum supervision
  • Certified in WHMIS, adheres to all safety standards and good manufacturing practices
  • Audit Daily Sanitation Checklist and document all tasks, completed and incomplete
  • Work with the Maintenance members to ensure production facility is updated and maintained
  • Meets compliance standards as part of the regulatory team-sanitation chemicals and sanitation equipment
  • Acts as part of the Quality Team, ensuring quality activities were performed and documented accordingly


Experience and Qualifications:

 Minimum 2 years of experience in sanitation role, preferably in a highly regulated industry (i.e. food industry)

  • HACCP certification or knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience with Sanitation Programs
  • Strong familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols
  • Knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) standards, and procedures
  • Experience working in GMP facilities
  • Managed a team of direct reports
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and weekends
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage industry
  • Able to lift 50lbs
