Our client is a well-established construction equipment dealer and service provider. We are looking for a Service Manager to join their team. This individual will lead and supervise mechanics and technicians within the service department. The successful candidate will also work to increase parts and service sales through business development activities and providing exceptional service. Our client is open to relocating the right individual for the position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall service department
- Create and implement strategies for increasing parts and service sales
- Communicate with customers regarding service orders, and parts and service offerings
- Manage the service team’s overall budget
- Create departmental performance goals, fostering a culture of accountability
- Report the department’s key performance indicators
- Develop policies and procedures as needed
- Manage quality standards for all service activities
- Monitor timing, job completion and repair work
- Manage compliance with company protocols for costs, safety and additional KPIs
- Communicate with customers and address all complaints in a professional manner
- Conduct performance reviews of staff
- Manage and mentor staff members
- Recruit, hire and terminate staff members as needed
- Champion a culture of workplace safety
- Conduct regular quality control checks
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing a service department within heavy equipment
- Experience with agricultural equipment is a major asset
- Solid technical and mechanical understanding of heavy equipment service/repair
- Experience leading a team of technicians/mechanics
- Experience managing an overall department and being responsible for maintaining company protocols related to costs, safety and other KPIs
- Excellent communication skills
- An overall effective manager with related industry experience
