The company owns and manages a diverse international real estate portfolio, including commercial and residential properties, hotels, and other hospitality enterprises.
Job Summary: We are seeking a results-oriented VP of Project Management to lead and execute large and complex capital projects and maintenance programs, including building/suite renovations and tenant improvements. The VP will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously across Canada, ranging in size from $500,000 to $5,000,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and deliver overall management of major capital projects, including scope, timeline, budget, and delivery.
· Oversee project management process from approving project deliverables to initiating project reviews and ensuring risks are continuously assessed and mitigated.
· Develop overall project plans, including schedules and budgets, and ensure accountabilities assigned are managed.
· Track and control schedule and plan costs to achieve completion within time and budget, taking corrective action as required.
· Ensure all plans and required permit submittals are processed with the appropriate government body and follow through to obtain approvals as required.
· Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance program for a portfolio of assets aimed at reducing the risk of failure or incidents.
· Interview and recommend for selection all outside consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and other similar third-party vendors.
· Provide oversight, guidance, and direction to all project teams including design, construction, consultants, and operations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or diploma, preferably in Applied Science or Engineering is an asset.
· 10+ years experience in construction/development project management in a wide variety of commercial projects from maintenance upgrades to new construction
· Strong knowledge of various types of construction methodologies, project management methods, and financial models.
· Excellent leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project, and technical issues.
· In-depth experience with risk identification and management.
· The proven ability to effectively recruit and build teams and manage senior project staff.
· Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Confident individual with strong leadership and drive to lead.
