Goldbeck partners with global recruiting network CFR Group

Goldbeck Recruiting in Vancouver is bringing decades of North American search and selection experience to the global market through a partnership with CFR Global Executive Search.

In my role as president of Goldbeck Recruiting, I invest a significant amount of my time in building up the resources and partnerships of the organization to support our team of recruiters. Recently, some of these efforts have culminated in a partnership with global executive search firm CFR Group. The association will expand our ability to manage multi-country search and selection retainers alongside carefully vetted recruitment partners in major markets across the globe.

YVR TO O’HARE INTERNATIONAL

Chicago Skyline (?: Sawyer Bengston)

We recently convened in Chicago to get to know one another in person and discuss best practice and process improvements. I particularly enjoyed my time there, hometown of CFR member Doug Seville and his firm DSML Executive Search. From the bold architecture and renowned museums, to the nightlife of comedy, blues and delicious food, I recommend a trip to the city for anyone with a taste for adventure and curiosities.

CFR GLOBAL EXECUTIVE SEARCH

CFR Global Executive Search was founded in the 1990s by four independent retained search companies from France, Germany, Netherlands and the UK. The aim was to offer their clients pan-European recruitment. Since then, the number of companies joining the CFR network has consistently increased, both in Europe, North and South America, and APAC. Today, CFR Global Executive Search is present worldwide and covers all the relevant markets. One firm per city or major market is chosen, all having passed a rigorous auditing process prior to entering the network. Members must commit to CFR’s core values and KPIs relating to client and candidate best practice and service quality.

Each region brings a unique experience to the table with different needs. One of the interesting developments at CFR is our expansion through Brazil to South America. There, we’re seeing a lot of movement in the agricultural sector in particular, with our partners in Mexico City connecting senior agro-management in LATAM markets like Chile, Peru and others.

Closer to home, Goldbeck has serviced some new agricultural sector requirements on the equipment and supply side, most recently placing managers in the hot house and marijuana industries. However, the single biggest sector for Western Canada right now is construction, with new job growth in every area from direct management to material suppliers. Our local recruitment team has many years of experience in senior and executive management placements which you can find out more about here.

THE FUTURE OF NAFTA FOR HIRING MANAGERS

Looking externally at North American-wide economics, the future of NAFTA was an important part of our conversations at the CFR conference in Chicago. While we can’t predict the future and continue to operate with the agreement as it stands, we believe that any real threat – or actual cancellation – will cause at least short term unease. This uncertainty will translate into slower investment and cancellation of new job creation. Our partnership with CFR allows us to tap directly into the experiences of professionals working with industry executives across the continent. In turn those conversations let us understand these market shifts faster and more confidently to relay this information to our clients here in Vancouver as they plan their personnel needs in to the future.
