Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their team who would be responsible for developing and managing programs to achieve implementation of infrastructure and service plans. The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, developing and managing maintenance programs of four mechanical utility systems: water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage and natural gas distribution. This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and update the engineering models for potable water, sanitary and storm water utility systems.
- Ensure data and utility models are kept up to date.
- Assist in developing and implementing the long-term infrastructure capital plans for these systems as well as Natural Gas.
- Update and verify the Mechanical Utility Infrastructure asset management plan.
- Perform in-house underground infrastructure design work.
- Manage and update the Water Distribution Model, Storm Sewer and the Sanitary Sewer Model reflecting the latest piping configuration and load distribution.
- As necessary, respond to emergencies related to the Water Distribution System
- Perform site inspections.
- Manage Utilities Natural Gas annual leak survey and repair programs.
- Manage gas meter re-sealing program.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline.
- Eligibility for professional registration in Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- 7+ years of related experience in related technical fields, project coordination and cost control.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software.
- Experience in civil construction, design and project management, asset management.
- Experience using asset and planned maintenance systems – Workday, SAP, Prism, Maximo.
- Training in municipal infrastructure department.
- Supervisory skills.
- Presentation experience.
- Able to write and prepare technical reports, scopes and develop cost estimates.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
