Our client is a reputable and dynamic third-party logistics (3PL) company specializing in transportation, freight management, and supply chain solutions. Due to their growth business plans, they are adding a General Manager/Vice President to their Burnaby, BC location. The new GM/VP will lead all the company’s department while driving operational efficiency, fostering client relationships, and achieving strategic growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, including transportation logistics, freight management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality while meeting customer expectations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their logistics needs, and providing customized solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support individual and team development.
  • Promote employee engagement, morale, and retention through effective communication, recognition programs, and professional development initiatives.
  • Manage the financial performance of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and cost control measures.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, margin improvement, and expense reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risk and maintain financial integrity.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the company’s customer base and revenue streams.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to promote the company’s services, differentiate from competitors, and drive business growth.
  • Participate in client presentations, contract negotiations, and proposal development to secure new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the 3PL sector, with a strong track record of operational excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Extensive knowledge of logistics operations, including transportation, freight management, warehousing, and distribution processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strategic planning, team development, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with clients, partners, and team members.
  • Strong business acumen, financial management capabilities, and analytical skills to drive profitability and achieve business objectives.
  • Proficiency in logistics software systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
