Our client is a well-established, family-owned supplier of building materials including lumber, moulding, pre-hung doors, locks, and more. They serve professional home contractors and renovators who trust their expertise to reliably source and supply products required to frame and finish homes throughout the Lower Mainland.
They are currently adding a Sales Representative to their team in Richmond, BC (hybrid model will be offered) who will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities while serving existing customers. The ideal candidate is someone with 3 or more years of experience selling lumber and related products. Lumber products will be sourced from our client’s lumber yard or custom ordered from specialist suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Quoting lumber packages for single family home construction / renovations
- Sourcing special orders for customers
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and creating materials estimates using take-off software
- Scheduling deliveries, working with a team of yard and delivery personnel
- Cross sell other products including moulding
- Maintaining and growing their customer base through prospecting, sales development, and customer follow up
- Utilizing our business management software, update and maintain accurate account information, customer details, and project information so it is available for management and other team members.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of sales experience in the building materials sector, at least 3 of which selling lumber products.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or technical diploma.
- Energetic, ambitious individual with great desire to build a successful career with a major player in the industry.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to make cold calls and prospect for new customers.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work in team and independently.
