Our client offers a comprehensive suite of geotechnical, structural, and geospatial monitoring and data delivery solutions that are being used in leading projects around the world.   Their monitoring technology can measure areas of interest at scale, from high-production mine sites to entire networks, such as railways, highways, and pipelines with a combination of geospatial, ground-based, and structural-based instrumentation. Their platform is also used to measure movement in airports, bridges, water dams, tailings dams, mines, and tunnels.  They are looking for a Production Planning and Control Manager to lead a team in the development and effective execution of end-to-end planning processes that deliver market optimized lead times and ensure consistent, excellent customer on-time-delivery performance.

  • You are energized by developing and leading teams and have developed a cohesive, collaborative, high performing planning team.
  • You are customer focused and have worked closely with the sales, operations, and finance teams, to ensure that the Sales and Operations Planning process results in well informed mid-term labour and materials planning decisions that support growth.
  • You are a creative and continuous improvement minded person and have collaborated with production and manufacturing engineering to create and execute on a vision for Lean manufacturing – delivering simplification and standardization to an inherently complex (mix of build to stock, configure-to-order and custom) manufacturing environment.
  • You have a strong technical understanding of planning and have significantly improved planning process and system effectiveness and efficiency by guiding your team in effective problems solving, including rolling up your sleeves to delve deep into problem details to help unpack issues and get down to true root cause.
  • You are proactive and enjoy working with your team at a tactical level and collaborating across functions, to help optimize order delivery and ensure that we consistently deliver on our lead-time and delivery commitments to our customers.
  • You have used your love of numbers and analysis, and knack for simplifying the complex, to develop reports, KPI’s and dashboards that are easy to interpret, insightful and actionable.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations, ideally in a low-mid volume, high mix (including configure to order and custom) environment.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in planning, ideally with experience in S&OP, master scheduling, production planning and production scheduling
  • 3+ years of personnel leadership experience
  • Experience with ERP systems for order management and fulfillment, ideally with Epicor experience.
  • Working knowledge and skill in the application of Lean manufacturing principles. Lean training an asset.
  • Experience with Demand Driven MRP an asset.
  • Experience facilitating S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or operations, or a related field.
  • ASCM / APICS certification (i.e. CPIM or CSCP) an asset
  • Valid drivers license
