Our client is a family-owned and operated development company based in the rapidly expanding Surrey, B.C. They specialize in constructing architecturally unique developments that help to beautify the landscape of emerging neighborhoods, in addition to providing convenient living in prime locations to our residents. Since 1992, they have gained a reputation of strong work ethic, quality construction and fair dealings — a reputation that they plan to maintain for years to come.  They are looking to add a Project Manager to their growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver construction projects on time, and to budget
  • Manage and resolve any issues with project
  • Prepare Project Budgets and forecasted total project costs
  • Oversee Site Superintendents, Project Estimators, and Project Coordinator
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts
  • Monitor progress and ensure a high standard of accuracy and quality with projects
  • Accountable for managing multiple facets of the project, simultaneously, and of varying scope
  • Approving invoices and working with the accounting department
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish
  • Work with consultants on RFI’s and SI’s
  • Schedule the project with general contractors, consultants, suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure project milestone agree with company expectations
  • Consistent follow up with contractors, consultants, vendors, and service providers on all project related action items
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry as a Project Manager
  • Experience with mass timber projects, concrete, underground
  • Strong and fast decision maker
  • Confident decision maker
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Leadership experience
