Case Study: Storm Guard

Storm Guard Water Treatment is a small water treatment service company located in Richmond, BC, with approximately 12 employees. They were looking for a new President of the company, as their previous President was set to retire within the year. The preferred candidate would be someone with a strategic focus from the Lower Mainland who knows the industry and its products with a well-established network.

One of the biggest challenges with succession planning and executive search, compared to regular hiring, is the impact a new president can have on company culture – especially in a small company. Our recruiter Alessia made sure all the employees felt taken care of through frequent meetings and check-ins to help build rapport throughout the process. Alessia also recognized that finding the perfect candidate can take time. Over six months, Goldbeck Recruiting extensively interviewed 29 candidates and was able to find the perfect fit.

When it comes to executive search and succession planning, every company is different. The key to a smooth transition process is being flexible and adaptable to the individual needs of the company.
